AI generates words. My voice shapes perception and possibility.
The language of design is not neutral: It carries individual values, moderates complexity, and shapes what communities believe is within reach. Relegating all content generation and decision-making to AI would be a tragic misstep.
I also believe that the “never AI” viewpoint creates a risk of organizations under–delivering for wide swathes of the public in an AI-driven future. The same communities that have been historically neglected risk behind left behind once again.
My philosophy is to always keep abreast of AI developments, use it selectively as a research and synthesis tool where its competencies can shine, and to bring experienced editorial judgment to all of my work, whether AI-supplemented or not. The goal is always to deliver work that's precise, powerful, equitable, and trustworthy.
